It started in Seoul, 1985.
Hogun’s father opened HANLIM in Seoul in 1985 and built it on one rule: get the prep right and the film goes on clean — no blade ever touches the glass.
Forty years on, that rule still runs the shop. He’s in on Saturdays.
Fast. Flawless. Fair.
I joined in 2009 — and not just to help my father run his shop. I came in to make it mine: the craft he taught me, my own standard, my name on every job that leaves the bay.
My rule is three words — fast, flawless, fair. Most shops tell you to pick two. We were built to deliver all three at once.
I also serve in the military, and I run the shop the way I was trained: clear standards, no shortcuts, every job held to the same bar. The whole crew is trained that way, so the result never depends on which installer you get. My father opened in Seoul in 1985; we opened Buena Park in 2014 — the work grew, but the standard hasn't moved.
